Church Council Announcement – Administrative Assistant Support

Church Council Announcement

Please Help Our Administrative Assistant Serve You Better!

Our church Administrative Assistant, Mary Beth, plays a vital role in keeping our church running smoothly. From managing the calendar and coordinating communications to answering phones, preparing bulletins, and assisting our pastor, her work is diverse and demanding.

To ensure that Mary Beth can perform her duties efficiently and effectively for the benefit of our entire church family, and avoid the need to work from home or after hours to meet deadlines, we kindly ask for your cooperation in minimizing interruptions.

Here are a few ways you can help:

  • Use Designated Communication Channels: For general inquiries, announcements, or to leave a message for staff, consider using email or the church's main phone line rather than dropping in without an appointment.

  • Plan Ahead for Bulletin/Announcement/Gabriel's Horn Submissions: If you have items for the bulletin or announcements, please submit them well in advance of the deadline. Last-minute submissions can cause significant disruption.

  • Limit Social Visits During Work Hours: While our Administrative Assistant enjoys connecting with everyone, frequent social visits during working hours can pull them away from important tasks and make it difficult to meet deadlines.

  • Check the Church Website/Bulletin First: Many common questions (like event times, contact information, or program details) can often be found on our church website or in the weekly bulletin. Checking these resources first can save you and Mary Beth time.

  • Schedule Appointments for Detailed Discussions: If you need to have a detailed conversation or require significant assistance, please call ahead to schedule an appointment. This allows Mary Beth to set aside dedicated time for you without interrupting other urgent tasks.

By being considerate of these points, you directly contribute to a more productive and peaceful office environment, and help Mary Beth to perform her tasks within her 23 hour work week. This, in turn, allows her to better support our ministries and serve the congregation as a whole. Your understanding and cooperation are greatly appreciated!

Thank you for helping us keep our church operations flowing smoothly.
