The Dickson County Help Center & Thrift Store has partnered with CarePortal. Together the community comes together with dedicated volunteers who help facilitate resources for foster care families. Saint John Lutheran Church members participate using the CarePortal app. This is an easy way for the volunteers to find resources within the community and send to these families in need. Please contact our church office is you are interested in becoming a volunteer.

The needs of these families are uploaded on the app. Volunteers from our local area will look and see if they are able to help. For example, they may have a window or lawnmower to fix, temporary financial assistance to pay a light bill, help with groceries, and more. One volunteer might be able to provide a portion of what’s needed and someone else might be able to complete it. The beauty comes in working together as a community, for the community.
