Children’s Ministry at
Saint John Lutheran Church
At Saint John Lutheran Church, our Children’s Ministry exists to help children grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ through God’s Word, prayer, and loving Christian community. We believe that children are a precious gift from God, and we seek to support families as they raise their children in the Christian faith.
Our Purpose
The goals of our Children’s Ministry are to:
Nurture faith in Jesus through the clear teaching of Scripture.
Introduce children to the story of God’s salvation and their place in it.
Support parents as the primary spiritual leaders in their homes.
Strengthen connection to the life of the Church and its worship.
Build relationships where every child feels safe, loved, and valued.
What We Offer
Our Children’s Ministry provides a variety of opportunities designed for growing minds and hearts:
Sunday School classes grounded in Scripture and Lutheran doctrine.
Children’s messages and activities that support participation in worship.
Vacation Bible School (VBS) each summer with Bible lessons, music, crafts, and games.
Seasonal events such as Christmas programs, Birthday Breakfast for Jesus, Easter celebrations, and service projects.
Family faith resources to help parents teach and pray with their children at home.
Our Foundation
Everything in our Children’s Ministry centers on:
The Gospel of Jesus Christ, who loves and saves His children.
The Means of Grace, especially Baptism, through which God claims His little ones.
The Lutheran Confessions, which guide what we teach and practice.
A commitment to safety, ensuring trained volunteers and caring supervision.
Who Can Join
Children from birth to 12th grade are welcome, whether they are part of our congregation or visiting. We rejoice in the opportunity to share Christ’s love with all children.
Our Commitment
We seek to create a joyful, Christ-centered environment where children:
Hear the Good News of Jesus every week
Grow in understanding of God’s Word
Build friendships with other Christian children
Learn to pray, serve, and trust in God’s promises
