Special Announcements – Quarterly Voters' Meeting Schedule Change
Special Announcements
Quarterly Voters' Meeting Schedule Change
The Church Council has voted to change the schedule for the quarterly voters' meetings. This new change will allow Sunday School to be held and will avoid Pastor Nathan needing to rush to the second service.
This change will be effective beginning with the June 29, 2025, voters' meeting. With this change, the schedule will align with the services held on the fifth Sunday of a month.
Sunday School will begin at 9 a.m. with the church service beginning at 10 a.m. The voters' meeting will follow the church service and will include a potluck meal.

Nicene Creed
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of His Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made; who, for us men for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.
And I believe one holy catholic and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Sanctuary Fern Donations
The Church Council is seeking donations for purchasing four artificial ferns to place in the sanctuary. As the effort to update the sanctuary continues, we are requesting your ideas in making the sanctuary more aesthetically enhanced for worship. We greatly appreciate any help you may offer.
If you are interested, please see Mary Beth in the church office.
If you sponsor a fern, you won't have to water it!
LWML News – Update from Nicole De Coux-Manners
Lois,
Thank you for your note! Indeed, I'm humbled and so grateful for the honor of receiving the Elizabeth Fedde Award - praise be to Jesus! It was quite the unexpected announcement when I found out about it! I'm preparing to fly out to Fort Wayne tomorrow (May 17) for my Final Formation Intensive and commencement ceremony on Friday. My husband will be joining me out there on Wednesday, and then we will return home on Saturday. However, although I'm participating in the commencement, I won't technically graduate until I complete summer quarter which includes my final two-week intensive in July. It's so unbelievable to me that almost two full years have passed since I began this program! It has been by the Lord's strength alone that I have been able to persevere through it with no breaks. Thank you and all the saints at St. John for your generosity, prayers, and support. It has meant so much to me to be supported in prayer by your congregation! I am blessed beyond measure!
You should soon be receiving my commencement announcement. It was important to me that your members could see what their generosity helped to bring about! In answer to your question about internship - because I am a distance student, the internship happens throughout the program within the student's home congregation and other ministry contexts they may serve in. I do serve at Mount Olive Lutheran in Folsom, but I don't foresee them being able to call me. However, I'm happy to serve in whatever way I can with the gifts that the Lord provides. I don't know what He has in store for me on the other side of August 5 when summer quarter ends, but I'm excited to find out!
May He richly bless your endeavors with VBS, and according to His will, may the weather cooperate so that the Gospel can be shared in abundance! I've attached a couple of newer pictures of the (grand)babies. Robin is getting so big, and now can say the common table prayer all by herself! Baby Rhys (pronounced Reese) is growing like a weed and already rolling over! He's definitely ready to start running after his big sister. We are grateful that he was brought into the Lord's Kingdom through Baptism on March 23.
In Christ,
Nicole
We will have our final door collection for Nicole on Sunday, June 29.
Please keep Nicole and her family in your prayers as she gets ready to start summer quarter.
LWML Vision & Goals
Our Vision
Lutheran Women in Mission among the women of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. Our Treasure is For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also (Matthew 6:21).
Heart ... Helping others in service to others through the LWML.
We are the Heart of the LWML because we are HIS:
Held by His Word;
Inspired to share His Gospel; and
Surrounded by His grace
Our Goals
A primary focus of the campaign is that each woman of the LCMS is the Heart of LWML. Christ is in the heart of each woman as she engages in mission education, mission inspiration, mission service, and mission support. Each woman of the LCMS is invited to embrace her role as a Lutheran Woman in Mission.
I am the Heart of LWML!
"As a Lutheran Woman in Mission, I will share the joy and wonder of what is done through the LWML by the grace of God — the resources created, the missions supported, and the ministries provided."
