Member Profile – The Lombardo Family

Raymond A. Lombardo

Ray was born in Los Angeles, California on September 5, 1938, on Labor Day. Ray is proud of his Italian heritage. His paternal grandparents were born in Sicily and Milan. His maternal grandparents were born in the US but were also 100 percent Italian. Ray has one sister who is 16 years younger and recently moved to Clarksville, TN. He had one brother that is deceased. While in California, Ray married and had 3 daughters and 2 sons. Two of his daughters are members of St. John. Marcy and Theresemarie. Ray worked for AT&T as an accountant while living in California. Ray then moved to St. Louis, Missouri where he re married and gained 3 stepdaughters. While in St. Louis, Ray ran a home day care until he retired. After retirement, Ray moved to Atlanta for a short time. When his wife passed away 3 years ago he moved to Dickson to be closer to his 3 daughters and son Billy. Ray has 18 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Ray was raised Catholic. When living in St. Louis he started attending a Lutheran church with one of his stepdaughters. He came to St. John because he was looking for a Lutheran church close to home.

Ray enjoys cooking, “gambling”, playing cards especially poker.

Ray says the best advice he ever received and would offer is to save money. Looking back on his life Ray is most proud of his biological family. He is presently working to update his parent’s family bible with Lombardo family history.

Theresemarie Lombardo

Theresemarie was also born in California. She also was very involved in sports. Teresa Marie was active in Girl Scouts from a young age. First as a Brownie and then Girl Scouts. Theresemarie continues to be active playing pickleball and seated Volleyball.

In the past, Theresemarie sold insurance and held the position of cook in several restaurants. She also built houses and was a commercial

framer. Theresemarie retired 3 years ago, receiving disability after being diagnosed with lung cancer (now in remission).

Theresemarie has 2 sons, 1 daughter and 4 grandchildren.

Theresemarie enjoys attending volleyball and cardio classes several times a week at the Dickson Senior Activity Center.

Activity Center

Marcy (Marcella) Lombardo

Marcy was born in Monterey Park, California and grew up in West Covina. She lived in Oklahoma and Colorado before moving to Tennessee over 40 years ago. Marcy was very active in sports for the majority of her life. She has played softball, mudwrestling (with her sister Theresemarie :), ping pong, swimming, and tether ball where she received 1st place in a California state competition. Marcy also was good at using a Yo Yo winning 2nd place in a California state competition. Interestingly her mother had earned 1st place in the Yo Yo competition several years before. She has two sisters (Theresemarie, Tammy) and 2 brothers (Billy, Raymond-who is deceased). Marcy has 3 sons, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Two great grandchildren are named after her (Emma Conjetta and Kason Marcelo).

When Marcy was 16 years old she began working as a gas station attendant. She then was employed in a warehouse for 45 years doing multiple jobs. One of the jobs was running a tow motor forklift. Marcy retired after receiving disability after knee and hip replacement.

Marcy’s favorite bible verse if John 3:16. Looking back on her life she says that what makes her smile and that she is most proud of are her sons and grandkids.
