Sanctuary Enhancement Ideas Requested

Ideas Requested to Further Enhance the Sanctuary

It has been 25 years since the sanctuary at St. John Lutheran Church opened. When first built, the sanctuary served multi-purposes, but with the addition of the Fellowship Building, it is used primarily for worship services. Although changes have been made over the years, additional enhancements could include items such as church banners and window treatments.

We would like to form a group of members to think about ways to further enhance the sanctuary. If interested, please contact Greg Stevenson.

Special Announcements – Quarterly Voters' Meeting Schedule Change

Special Announcements
Quarterly Voters' Meeting Schedule Change

The Church Council has voted to change the schedule for the quarterly voters' meetings. This new change will allow Sunday School to be held and will avoid Pastor Nathan needing to rush to the second service.

This change will be effective beginning with the June 29, 2025, voters' meeting. With this change, the schedule will align with the services held on the fifth Sunday of a month.

Sunday School will begin at 9 a.m. with the church service beginning at 10 a.m. The voters' meeting will follow the church service and will include a potluck meal.

Summer Update from Nicole – Our Adopted Student Deaconess

Blessings to you all and the saints at St. John! I am so touched by your congregation's continued, faithful support. Our family has gone through some difficulties recently, and I was moved to tears when I received my student account balance and saw the Lord's provision through the last gift that was posted to my account by St. John. I was reminded of the words in James 1:17, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change." He has proved Himself faithful time and time again, making my participation in this program possible through your generosity.

As I am preparing to fly out on Saturday (July 6) for my summer intensive session in Fort Wayne, I wanted to share a little bit about where I am in my program. My cohort just finished up our Books of Moses class with Dr. Jeffrey Pulse, along with our second semester of Deaconess Practicum with Dcns. Rosie Adle. Our upcoming intensive is from July 8 through July 19, although we are already hard at work preparing for, with much to read and write between now and Monday! We have three courses this session: Pauline Epistles with Dr. Charles Gieschen; Heaven on Earth: Worship of Lutherans Today with Dr. Paul Grime; and Intro All the World with Confession and Care with our program advisor, Dcns. Amy Rast. It is a hefty schedule, but the four of us and my cohort are looking forward to seeing one another again in person and working through this incredible content together in the same room!

When this summer session ends on August 2, I will be officially halfway through the Deaconess Studies program. What an incredible privilege it's been—I've learned and grown so much during my time in the program and look forward to seeing what the Lord has in store for all of us when, if He wills, we complete this training next July.

I also wanted to share some happy news from the home front: Richard and I are delighted to announce that we will be grandparents again! Miss Robin, who will be two in October, is going to welcome her little brother in January. We rejoice at the news and thank the Lord for continuing to grow our daughter and son-in-law's family.

May all of you at St. John be blessed richly with grace, joy, and the peace that surpasses all understanding through Christ Jesus.

In Him,

Nicole De Coux-Manners

Remember we have a door collection for Nicole the last Sunday of each month. The monies collected go directly to her student account at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne. Continue to pray for her and her family as she follows God's call to serve.
