Personal Stewardship Witness (Janet Van Doren)
Reflects on Jeremiah 29:11–13 about God’s plans to give hope and a future, and seeking God with all the heart.
Describes being without breathing after a car accident and an EMT reviving her; later the EMT shared that God must have plans for her life.
Looks back on a youth without church but with basic decency taught at home, and how a newspaper ad about a Lutheran group starting a church led her gradually to St. John.
Recounts being baptized when St. John was still a mission church, signing the charter, helping build the church, and writing Scripture on the studs, realizing God had been leading her.
Expresses thanks for a better life, for her daughter Myca, and for understanding God as Father in a similar way to how she loves her child.
Signed: Janet Van Doren; note that it was published as a stewardship witness for Saint John Lutheran Church.
